What to Expect

An initial meeting allows you to decide whether counselling or psychotherapy with me might help you with your situation. You can use this time to tell me about yourself and ask me questions. I will tell you about how I work and what I can offer you.

When therapy begins, consultations are generally one hour long, once a week.
Fees are £35 per hour.

Some people find they need a few counselling sessions to address a specific problem. Others benefit from longer term psychotherapy to deal with on-going difficulties or broader concerns.

Counselling and psychotherapy enable you to become aware of your thoughts, feelings and behaviour and to understand how these impact on your life and your relationships. As your awareness develops you can begin to make choices and decisions about how you want to live and be.

For your protection, all our work together will be confidential and agreed in a contract between us. We both work on your problems as equal partners with our own areas of expertise. You are the expert on you; your life, past experiences and wishes for the future. My role is to listen, to ask questions, to offer choices, to challenge and support. I act as a guide for you on your chosen journey.

Please phone or e-mail if there is anything you would like to know that I have not mentioned here.
